Asia-Pacific enterprise cybersecurity spending to hit new heights
With so much of today’s enterprise world keeping their systems and mission critical information in the cloud – and across various other storage devices for that matter – there is a need to ensure that everything IT infrastructure-related stays safe.
After all, if any data that’s being used for the purposes of business intelligence and, in turn, strategic planning is compromised, then the organization may be in jeopardy. Furthermore, the integrity of its decisions going forward could be compromised too.
Asia-Pacific cybersecurity spending
Digitally aware companies remain a lucrative target for would-be cyber attackers, as even the smallest loophole may lead into the company’s wider information pool.
Such problems are by no means geographically-exclusive, but the Asia-Pacific is doing more than most to combat them. In fact, statistics collated by ABI Research explained that spending on IT defences and cybersecurity across the region is set to reach US$22 billion by 2020.
The spending increase is being supplemented by the vast amount of emerging economies throughout Asia-Pacific. While Japan, South Korea and China have long been established as business centres, the continuing rise to prominence of Indonesia, Thailand and India is seeing their enterprise needs change.
Changing economies contribute more
As the economies of those countries gain traction, the companies within them are finding new and innovative ways to streamline their processes using tech such as cloud deployments, as well as relying more on business intelligence.
Consequently, many of them now have just as much crucial data to keep safe as a number of their well-established peers.
However, as touched on, enterprise security is by no means a pigeonholed issue. Whether the organization contains 100 or 100,000 employees, the basic need to keep information safe and secure remains the same.
Those across Asia-Pacific have clearly recognized this, with the predicted strengthening of the region’s cyberdefences certainly a positive for the many organizations located within it.
